About Us

Rotary Club Mangaluru Seaside is a voluntary service organisation recognised by Rotary International, Chartered in 2018. Over the last 6 years, the organisation has conducted various activities including Adoption of Anganvadi, constructed houses for poor families, adopted orphanages, honoured retired teachers, celebrated Vanamahotsava, and conducted academic activities in Government Schools. We have also hosted prestigious events such as "Chinnara Chili Pili" – a Children's Festival, and "Guruvandana" – a Teachers Talent Competition.

Our Rotary Club prioritises helping the poor and needy, promoting and managing various events in and around Mangaluru. With strong expertise in event management, we have a dedicated team of planners committed to bringing events into the limelight through road shows, business promotions, educational initiatives, healthcare, nutrition programmes, and family support.

🎭 Events

Rotary Seaside's Teacher Talent Competition — GURUVANDANA 2026
Beyond the Classroom, Beyond the Chalkboard

1. FOLK DANCE - GROUP

Time limit 5 minutes (4+1)
Maximum of 1 entry per School / College
Min 4 – Max 8 teachers per team
First 12 entries only will be considered

2. FILMY DANCE - GROUP

Time limit 5 minutes (4+1)
Maximum of 1 entry per School / College
Minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 teachers per team
First 12 entries only will be considered

3. CLASSICAL DANCE - SOLO

Time limit 4 minutes (3+1)
Maximum of 2 entries per School / College
Evaluation: stage presentation, costume, angashuddhi & abhinaya

4. FOLK SONG - GROUP

Time limit 5 minutes (4+1)
Maximum of 1 entry per School / College
Minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 teachers per team
First 12 entries only will be considered
Background music or instruments are allowed

5. PATRIOTIC SONG - GROUP

Time limit 5 minutes (4+1)
Maximum of 1 entry per School / College
Minimum of 4 and maximum of 8 teachers per team
First 12 entries only will be considered
Background music or instruments are allowed

6. SINGING EASTERN - SOLO

Time limit 4 minutes (3+1)
Maximum of 1 entry per School / College
Background music or instruments are allowed

7. Ad Mad QUIZ

2 participants per team
Maximum of 1 entry per School / College
Ad Mad Quiz will be a written one
Questions will be based on brands, logos, taglines or jingles

8. COLLAGE

Time limit 90 minutes
Max 1 entry per School / College
Drawing sheets provided (21×30)
Use newspaper cuttings, magazines, oil paints, water paints allowed
Theme: "A Teacher's Touch: Creating Lasting Impact"
Create a collage showcasing how a teacher inspires, nurtures, and empowers individuals to build a better society through education.

📋 General Rules and Regulations

All entries must be submitted on or before 24th August 2026. Entries received after the deadline will not be considered. Send your entries to:

Convenors, Rotary Seaside's Teacher Talents Competition - Guruvandana 2026
Competition will start sharp at 9:00 AM on 30th August 2026 at the SDM Law College, Mangaluru
Participants will be provided with sounds, lights, and an LCD display screen. However, it is the responsibility of each team to designate a responsible individual to oversee these elements during their respective performances
Order of performance will be decided by the organisers of the event
All participants are requested to report at the venue at 8:30 AM
Each event will be awarded with 3 prizes
Respecting religious and racial sentiments is essential. Promoting any kind of hate speech, discrimination or incitement of violence based on religion, race or supporting any kind of political agendas must be avoided. Any team found violating this rule will be disqualified immediately. The decision of the organizing committee shall be final.
Outside food and all non-vegetarian food items are strictly prohibited within the college campus during the competition.
Consumption of food inside the Green Room is not permitted. Participants are requested to use only the Canteen areas.
Every participating team is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and decorum in the Green Room and the college campus. Any team found littering, damaging property, or leaving the area untidy may be subject to penalties, including disqualification from the competition.

The decision to change/cancel/alter the program rests with the organizers. The organizers decision will be final in any matter that may arise in the due course of the event.
